The verdict is in: life is, in fact, like a box of chocolates. A vast percentage of life experiences are nauseating and filled with some repulsive good that one cannot even begin to comprehend, yet people, as curious and obstinate beings by nature, progress through the paper liners, one perilous morsel at a time, with the simple hope of stumbling upon something sweet, delightful, and memorable to make that box of chocolates worthwhile.

My life, while bearing the metaphorical similarity to a box of chocolates, also possesses the same fluctuation in ups and downs as a rollercoaster: Loops, spirals, and zero-gravity free-falls. Sometimes adrenaline pumps throughout my being, leaving me thrilled and exhilarated but, occaisonally I undergo a frightening conveyance to which I can only respond by clenching my teeth and bearing down for the ride while desperately screaming in vain for the operator of it all to "Stop the ride!". It is only after I am safely outside the guard rail that I can regain my equilibrium and look in on what I've learned and accomplished from my episode, although this epiphany is rarely enough to encourage a second attempt.

In my entire nineteen years and 3 months of life, I have been fortunate enough to experience a broad range of life; I have been at the epitome of my own happiness. I've fallen into lapses of tears that felt like they'd never end. I've seen death, as well as life. I've seen as many miracles as disasters. I've felt God and I've felt lost, sometimes simultaneously. I've prayed for the world and I've lost hope for humanity. With each and every one of my experiences, I attain an entirely new lesson in life, regardless of whether the nature of which was positive or negative. Unfortunately, the lesson in the negative experience is much more elusive and can only become clear once the chocolate has been hastily swallowed and then followed with a tall glass of water (or milk, rather, as it goes quite nicely with chocolate). In the end, despite all the downfalls, disappointments, discouragements, and disgusting dark chocolates with lemon pistachio cream, the solace that I find in the exceedingly simple milk chocolate caramel among the complicated and elaborate attempts at gourmet makes my box of chocolate worth its $15.99 (plus tax).

Who I'd like to meet:

~I don't aspire to meet anyone in particular~
I've got to get to know myself a little better first.
