Bio
Mai Hernon, who is a Traditional singer from Gurteen, Co Sligo, Ireland. MAI, has just launched her second album of traditional songs, consisting of 14 tracks. She has got great reviews from all the music mags and she has been interviewed on local and international radio stations. Mai has been working on her third ablum with the following musicians. : Seamus Hernon, plays Flute and whistle, Paddy Morgan, plays Guitar, Rodney Lancester, who plays banjo, Mandola, and Mandolinand Concertina. We have been working on some songs that have been arranged by myself and the lads. This is a new way of recording for MAI, as this will be her first album recorded with music. She will also have different types of songs on this album, such as American Country and jazz along with folk music. She is very happy with the sound that the lads are creating as they are all top class musicians. All of the lads teach music and MAI is a Traditional singing teacher at all the summer schools in Ireland. Lots of Love to you all out there. MAI, Paddy, Seamus, and Rodney

Influences
So many influences, Michael Coleman was a great fiddle player from Gurteen and he would be one of the strongest influences, P.J. Hernon and Marcus from connamara, co Galway, and others, with regard to the music. The singing would be Doloras Keane, local singers from my part of the country (Gurteen) and my mother.
Sounds Like
We have a unique sound but the nearest we can be compaired with is Dervish. We have a lively hearty sound and great lift in our music. Our songs are mostly traditional, with our own arrangements, and special treatment, Some of them will be solo, but most are arranged. Also some of them are composed by members of the band. We also do a couple of non-Irish songs, but putting our own touch on them.
