Hailing from Waterford, Shane Barry has created one of the freshest and skillfully crafted debut albums to appear out of these shores in recent years. If you can imagine ORANGE JUICE playing the songs of JOE STRUMMER then you wouldn't be far off. The album RADIO FRICTION was itself mastered by STUART HAWKES of AMY WINEHOUSE fame and produced by Barry. .... The distractions combine tight rhythms with a killer brass section, leaving just the right amount of space for Barry's very distinctive voice and guitar playing, PAUL WESTERBURG would spring to mind on first listen.....
