..realeditorbest profile tools..realeditorbest profile tools... Expatriate New Yorker Ben Prevo has been based in Eire since 1990 purveying his unique genre bending brand of guitar based roots music to a cult following. As well as being an interesting and capable guitarist and vocalist Ben is a prolific songwriter and has performed his compositions with artists such as Rick Danko, Levon Helm,Jorma Kaukonen and Jaco Pastorious. Since living in Ireland he has performed with Gerry Fehily, Liam Ó Maonlaí and Leo Barnes of the Hothouse Flowers and Noel Redding and has performed on national rte television and radio numerous times. Ben released a cassette album in 1991- "New, Blue and True" by the Ben Prevo Trio. Most of the tracks were recorded in Ireland. Three New York tracks were included as well. Ben, Joe Lahart (bass) and Tony Kelleghan (drums) were kindly helped by Gavin Povey on piano (an alumnus of Shakin' Stevens, Steve Cropper, Dion and Dave Edmunds). Also, helping with saxophones on a few tracks were Hot House Flower Leo Barnes and Waterboy Anto Thistlethwaite. In 1999 Ben released a cd “It’s About Time” with help from Dave Byrne on bass, Keiran Phillips on drums, Vincent O'Connor ..boards, Mick Kinsella on harmonica, John Earle on sax, Carl O'Byne on trumpet & Caire Moloney on trombone. In-between the two releases tracks by Ben were released on two compilations -- “The Sham Rocks” on Stompin records and “Why Love” on the Velo label. Mick Kinsella asked Ben to contribute as song for his masterpiece "Harmonica" and it was a pleasure and privilige for him to play and sing his song " See The Blues Tonight" on the CD...... it can be purchased here---- http://www.qodmusic.com/getmusic.php?artistname=Mick%20Kinsella&artist=38 2005 BEN PREVO,SHANE ATLAS,NEIL PALTRIGDE & WIDGEON HOLLAND were recorded by JOHN DRISCOLL for the self released "Live At The Mezz" cd.
