About 5 months ago I got to go see a super-advanced screening of ‘Pitch Perfect.’ I was already pre-excited about the movie after being in show choirs and choruses from kindergarten through college. And doubly excited because I’d been waiting since Anna Kendrick was in ‘Camp’ for her to sing again. And let me tell you, this movie isn’t overhyped. It’s incredibly fresh and funny and worthy of it’s ‘Bring it On’ comparisons … and way better than ‘Glee.’ Anyway, a bunch of us girls got to sit down with most of the cast and talk about everything from ‘Pitch Perfect’ to a whole bunch of naughty stuff I’ll include in another article. But for now, since the movie comes out today, we want to share with you everyone’s audition stories, including the songs they picked to sing, as well as a couple of soundbites from the cast doing a little performing for us.

Last night kicked off what was thought to be the first of many tense Presidential debates between President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. If you missed it, we have both the full debate and a highlight reel below. Many pundits, like MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, were pretty vocal that they didn’t think President Obama played to his strengths. Others felt Mitt Romney came out fully prepared and ready to not only withstand harsh blows but steamroll through to ensure his voice was heard.

Anyone know why it’s called ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”? What wasn’t expected was the massive level of freaking out done by people in Hall H today when at around 4PM it finally came time to bring out Peter Jackson and the Hobbit cast and show us 12 1/2 minutes of never-before-seen footage from the film. I mean…12 1/2 minutes! Peter Jackson! Ian McKellan!!! And holy hell, one heck of a surprise guest with Elijah Wood showing up for this panel. Just read.

Pacific Rim is essentially monsters versus robots. Or in this case robots versus monsters, because the robots are the good guys. We think. We know they are operated by two humans and there is some sort of neural connection between the humans, who are in the 24 story robot’s heads acting out what they want their side of the robot to do. That’s right there is a right hemisphere and a left hemisphere operator who have to work together to operate the robot. In case you didn’t know this already … Guillermo del Toro is a genius. A mad scientist, foul-mouthed, sophisticatedly funny, warmth-filled madman of a genius director. And before this panel I had almost no real impression of the man, so that’s saying a lot. The panel at Comic-Con was probably one of the biggest surprises because so little is known about this film as of yet. They just finished shooting 12 weeks ago and the film isn’t out until July 13, 2013, but wowey-wow. It. Looks. IMPRESSIVE. Read on to find out exactly why I’m gushing like a fool.
